Glazed Pork Chops

Barbara A. Pompei, Sacramento, California

Ingredients

pork chops
onions
celery
carrots
apples (optional)
Ginger Ale or 7-Up (Not Diet)
salt and pepper

How much or many of each ingredient?

Sorry...I cook with the method..."If you want a lot...put in a lot!".....How many chops?...how many will fit in the pan. How many onions? carrots? ......How many can you spare and do you like carrots and onions?

That's how my grandma cooked and it works for me.

In an electric skillet lay pork chops to cover the bottom.
Over the top add chopped onion, celery, and carrots.
A chopped apple or two is optional as it will just cook to nothing but can add flavor if it is a flavorful apple to begin with.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Pour over all 7-up or Ginger Ale (not diet) until all is well submerged.

Set skillet at a temperature that will allow a nice constant simmering action and cook for about an hour adding more liquid as needed but you want all the liquid to just be gone when you are ready to eat.

To serve...just slide a spatula under the chop and flip it over onto the plate...the bottom will have a nice brown "sugar glaze" and taste heavenly.
